UPSTAGED THEATER DOGS
Upstaged Theater Dogs works in partnership with local rescues to train homeless dogs to perform in live theater settings. We provide the theater with professional casting, training, and performance handling of the rescue dog; while finding the forever home.

ABOUT US
Through partnership with local theaters we are able to reach out to animal rescues to find a pool of dogs that matches the director's vision to audition. Within our casting process we screen dogs for temperament, workability, and charisma with the cast.
Using positive reinforcement techniques we then proceed to train the dog for each production's specifications.
Our program provides the show with a unique cast member and an opportunity for the rescue to be prominently displayed in the play bill and for interaction with audience members.
After the performance the dog is adoptable to the community to find them their forever home.
OUR TEAM
Our trainers have hands on experience training rescue dogs!

AIMEE MABIE
Owner
South Carolina Trainer
Aimee has been working with dogs since she was 16 and has worked in many aspects of pet care including Animal Control, a Shelter, Boarding Kennel, Veterinarian and an Obedience School. She is a Veterinary Technician at Pleasant Pet Care in Mount Pleasant, SC. Aimee has been training dogs since 2002 and specializes in aggressive/reactive dogs. She started Upstaged when she found a need for dogs in local theater productions. She used that opportunity to bring awareness to rescues while doing something she loves... working in theater!
REGAN NYLES
Minnesota Trainer
Regan has always had an interest for the preforming arts and a love for dogs. After completing her film production degree from Minnesota State University of Moorhead, it only seemed natural to combine these two passions. After apprenticing under Aimee Mabie to learn more about the training process, Regan joined her as an Upstaged Dog Trainer in 2019.

“Saving just one dog won't save the world, but surely it will change the world for that one dog."
